Although there is some subjectivity in the way in which social perceptions are defined about the immigration flows to different countries of the world and about the volume of the immigrant population in a given society, these images are seen as an important indicator of perception about immigration. Some myths and stereotypes that lead to misperceptions and distortions of reality persist – around what immigrants represent in the total number of residents of each country – but which can quickly be deconstructed with facts based on sustainability statistic.
Thus, with this question we intend to understand what perception exists about the weight of the immigrant population in the total of the resident in Portugal.
